HAND of the Peninsula maintains a bilingual (English and Spanish)
lending library of literature, books, pamphlets, films and more about
pregnancy loss and perinatal death. Grieving parents and their families
and friends often find the materials in our lending library invaluable in
helping them to understand and deal with their losses.
A bibliography of all materials in the lending library may be found below, prefaced by a letter of introduction from the editor. The materials in the lending library are arranged in the following categories:
Letter from the Editor HAND of the Peninsula is pleased to provide the following information, which has been gathered in an effort to support those who have been touched by the loss of a child, before, during or soon after birth. The short descriptions have come from many sources, brochures, books, sales literature, online information, Amazon.com, and others, and reviews. THE DESCRIPTIONS HAVE NOT ALL BEEN COMPOSED BY, NOR ARE THEY NECESSARILY ORIGINAL WITH THE EDITOR OF THIS MANUSCRIPT. This catalogue, An Annotated Bibliography for the Resource Lending Library at HAND of the Peninsula, does not follow the traditional "research" format for bibliographies because my intent is not to assist researchers, but to assist those who have experienced pregnancy loss. Therefore, I have placed the format of the entries in the order that the average person probably would find most important (or most memorable):
TITLE, AUTHOR, DATE OF PUBLICATION, MEDIUM, ISBN NUMBER, TOPIC CATEGORY, LIBRARY CALL NUMBER AND BRIEF DESCRIPTION. Since these entries are gleaned from numerous sources, the information will not be 100 percent complete for each entry. Every effort was made to avoid errors. However, if you discover any oversights, or if you are familiar with any of these materials and can fill in missing information, please let me know. I would be pleased to update any subsequent reprints.
